Seattle, WA (May 15, 2012) - Over the last few months, a remarkable number of "Megachurches" throughout the Pacific Northwest, have begun using KV2 Audio brand high definition sound systems supplied by LIFT Distribution. These churches are defined as having average weekly attendance in the thousands and feature full-production,contemporary music concerts, requiring sophisticated sound systems, theatrical lighting and HD video production, as part of their regular services. Seattle-area congregations such as City Church, Foursquare and Cornwall, as well as Victoria-based Glad Tidings have all chosen KV2 Audio over previously installed, leading loudspeaker brands.
"When comparing KV2 to our pre-existing [leading brand] system, the improvement in performance was immediately apparent and not at all subtle!" exclaimed Graeme Ceasar, Technical Director at Glad Tidings. "KV2's combination of super high resolution DSP, high definition powerful amps and superbly designed point-source loudspeakers is simply unbeatable. We're getting more than enough crystal-clear SPL for our 1200 seat sanctuary from dual high-mid cabinets (ES1.0) and a pair of subwoofers (ES2.5 and ES1.8) per side. It's the best decision we could have made."
Similar praise could be heard from technical staff and attendees at the recent City Church "Generation Church" Conference held at the church's 2,400 seat facility in Kirkland, WA. In this case, a relatively small KV2 "VHD" system shook the rafters while providing perfect coverage for the extremely wide, semi-circular sanctuary. "The keys to the wide coverage are the system's superior point-source design and distortion-free wide band frequency response," explained LIFT Distribution's Dave Christenson. "Unlike a line array, KV2 point-source systems do not require complex digital processing to compensate for inherent line array lobes and unavoidable deficiencies. KV2 designs have extraordinary dynamic range which makes listening to KV2 much more enjoyable."
Another KV2 VHD system was used for the recent Easter Services at Puyallup's Foursquare Church. To accommodate crowds of over 7,000, the services where held at the local Fairgrounds Showplex. "The VHD system was hung and passing audio within 30 minutes of its arrival," commented Brent Todd, the event's Technical Director. "Even more impressive was the fact that, in this less-than-acoustically-ideal room, the KV2 system required no tuning whatsoever. Dispersion was wide and smooth and it was literally plug-and-play. We also used the KV2 LD4 Line Driverwith the Avid Venue SC48 adding a substantial amount of headroom to the SC48 outputs. The system sounded fantastic, everyone was thrilled and our entire staff was amazed."
Bellingham, Washington's Cornwall Church recently installed a KV2 ES system in a left-center-right (LCR) configuration for their 1,400-seat sanctuary. System designer David Ellis was asked to provide a solution for a complex problem. "Given the shape of the room, an eight box per side line array was originally specified. However, there was insufficient ceiling height to make such a system practical. The KV2 ES1.0 point-source system turned out to be a perfect, and to everyone's surprise, a superior choice. The install included six ES1.0 hi-mid cabinets, four ES2.5 subwoofers, four ESD6 cabinets for front fills and an LD4 Line Driver. All involved are thrilled with the result."
As LIFT Distribution's Steve Palermo summed up, "these stories are repeated every time we demonstrate or install a KV2 system. KV2's wide range of products allows us to specify ideal systems, either installed or mobile, to cover crowds of 150 to 20,000+. In every situation, we're able to provide a higher quality solution with fewer speakers, less outboard equipment, connections, weight, crew and obstruction than anyone could believe - it's fun to watch our clients' stunned, amazed reaction to the sound quality."
