Zhev Liberson, owner and operator of Clockwork Audio was requested, along with several local residents, to visit the initial planning and refurbishment meetings at Cornwall’s Rouge Bar and Nightclub, with a view to addressing a long lasting noise pollution problem that the venues' former guise had suffered.

SPL and frequency measurements taken prior to the design showed an average level of 100db on the dance floor, but amore worrying 90db at the window of the nearest resident. Having experience in similar venues and situations, Zhev set about designing a custom built soundproofed ceiling before then specifying a suitable audio system. Taking into account the venues need for a system with a small footprint Zhev specified four KV2 Audio EX12 2-way active loudspeakers along with two KV2 Audio EX2.2 double 12” active subwoofers.

Once installed, SPL and frequency measurements were again conducted. The dance floor maintained its intended level of 100db, with the readings at the closest residents window almost halved to 50db. Clockwork Audio have reported that the club is delighted with the system and has achieved full quotas during the venues operating hours to date.
