Following on from KV2 Audio’s busiest Prolight and Sound show in Frankfurt, this years Plasa ’09 in Earls Court saw KV2 exhibit even more new products along side the fourteen introduced at Frankfurt.

Plasa ’09 gave KV2 Audio the opportunity to display the latest additions to the EX Series, the LD Series and ESD Series, as well as allowing sister company KX Audio to show off its entire product line, including the new KX30 active 3-way, full range loudspeaker system and KX1.8, active 18” subwoofer, all for the first time in the UK.

The already popular EX26, double 6” 2-way high intelligibility loudspeaker system was on display along with the brand new EX1.2, low profile active 12” subwoofer. These two additions to the active EX range have already generated major interest due to the compact size and incredible performance of both boxes.

The LD Series, a selection of four DI style boxes all featuring KV2 Audio’s legendary VHD (Very High Definition) Line Drivers on every output were also on show. The LDP Passive Line Driver, The LDD Direct Line Driver, The LDA Acoustic Instrument Line Driver and the LDM Mix Line Driver are claimed to be four of the highest quality stage solutions available today. The on board VHD Line Drivers ensure the smallest possible loss of signal through long lengths of cable.

The highly anticipated ESD Passive Series were also on display. For the first time with any KV2 Audio product, users will be able to utilise 3rd party amplification when using any of the ESD Series. Demonstrated at this year’s show was the ESD6 6” 2-way, full range loudspeaker and the ESD12 12” 2-way, full range loudspeaker.

The ESD Passive Series will soon grow to include the ESD10, a 10” 2-way, full range loudspeaker and ESD1.2, a compact 12” subwoofer. For optimized performance, KV2 Audio’s ESP4000, a new rack mountable four-channel 4X1000 watt amplifier has been designed specifically for use with the ESD speakers. Also joining the ESD range and making its first appearance anywhere was KV2 Audio’s eagerly anticipated wedge monitor the ESD12M. The ESD12M features the same components as the ESD12, along with a rugged, stage ready cabinet and grill. The ESD12M, which will come in both left and right configurations, promises to be a great addition to KV2 Audio’s product range.

Along with a brand new stand design, this year KV2 Audio also occupied the Thames Suite, the largest demonstration room available in Earls Court. The increase in space gave KV2 Audio the chance to demonstrate a very large range of products, with units of ES, EX, ESD and KX Audio all available for visitors to audition. The ESD6 was a particular success, with many visitors questioning which subs were running due to its incredible low-end performance for such a small loudspeaker. Along with the ESD6, word spread around the show that visitors had to pay a visit to the demo room to hear KV2 Audio’s ES system. The Thames Suite proved a major success, with barely a quiet moment throughout all four days of the show and saw established KV2 Audio users and newcomers alike thoroughly impressed with products new and old.

This years show was a milestone for KV2 Audio as it was the first time KV2 were given the opportunity to provide sound for the prestigious annual Plasa Innovation Awards.
