Taking place on Sunday 27th September in the Adrian Boult Hall of the Birmingham Conservatoire, Roland UK presented their incredible new line-up of electronic V-Drums. The show featured several high profile musicians demonstrating the quality of the latest generation of V-Drums. World-renowned session drummers Craig Blundell and Johnny Rabb performed along with an entertaining Q&A session with Nick Mason of Pink Floyd fame.
KV2 Audio’s involvement in the project began at the London International Music Show 2009 where Roland representatives attended a short presentation of KV2 Audio products in KV2’s demonstration room. Andy Austin-Brown, KV2 Audio’s Director of Technical Projects and KV2 Audio’s UK Sales Director, Mick Butler, agreed to the project and felt that a full VHD system would best suit the requirements of the venue and of the dynamic requirements of Roland’s V-Drums. Along with providing the FOH system, several units of EX10, active 10" loudspeakers, EX26, active double 6" loudspeakers and EX2.2, active double 12" subwoofers were used as drum monitors for each of the five drum set-ups.
ETS Sales and Hire were responsible for providing a complete production package of video screens, recording services, lighting, staging and crew as well as setting up the KV2 Audio VHD System.
Roland’s management and technical team were delighted with the resulting production, praising the efforts of everyone involved and stating that they hope many more events can take place in the future. Both Mick Butler and Andy Austin-Brown were also delighted with the response from attendees and felt that being associated with prestigious companies such as Roland can only be beneficial to the continued evolution of KV2 Audio.
