The Old Globe Theatre is a professional theatre company located in Balboa Park in San Diego, California built in 1935. It kicks off the Season 2018–2019 with the electrifying world premiere musical comedy, The Heart of Rock & Roll, inspired by the music of one of the most beloved and iconic acts in music history, Huey Lewis and the News, and featuring a book by Jonathan A. Abrams and story by Tyler Mitchell and Jonathan A. Abrams.

It's directed by Gordon Greenberg with choreography by Lorin Latarro and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Brian Usifer. The Heart of Rock & Roll runs September 6 – October 21, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe’s Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Sound design was entrusted to the award winning sound designers John Shivers and David Patridge who commented: “Once again we have chosen to specify KV2 for its combination of power output vs size together with an amazingly detailed sound stage and sonic accuracy. A fairly diminutive looking rig comprised of 2x EX15 and a single EX26 is more than capable of doing justice to Huey’s material. We are continually thrilled with the results that we are able to achieve with KV2.

"The tiny center cluster was a perfect fit in our scenic proscenium, I couldn’t believe how something so small could be so crystalline. I especially liked the vocals through that cabinet - they were really present, clear and intelligible.” added the production manager, Ben Thoron.

Tickets start at $39.00, are on sale now to the general public, and can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org.
