Sound Kitchen, now in its 15th year, recently took place as part of the Prague Quadrennial 2023. Held every four years – as its name suggests – the Prague Quadrennial is an international festival of theatre and stage design that celebrates the diversity of all theatre arts in a holistic and interactive way. Sound Kitchen, as part of PQ2023, provides a unique opportunity for the audio-curious to perform their work and exchange ideas in an experimental and experiential, multichannel and immersive environment.

Hosted by the Entertainment Times and co-organised by the Longjoin Group – who are also the creators of the event – the Rave Jam Music Carnival is a massive outdoor music festival that combines an eclectic spread of electro, rap and pop music to appeal to a wide audience. The first edition took place in Linjiang’s Cherry Blossom Park over the May Day holiday weekend and welcomed nearly 24,000 festival-goers over the course of the two days. The vaults underneath London’s Royal Exchange have been beautifully transformed into a new drinking and dining destination, The Libertine. In charge of designing, installing and integrating a high-spec audio system into the venue was Middlesex Sound & Lighting (MSL). Faced with challenging architecture and a Grade 1-listed space, MSL Director Darrel Olivier believes the result – which features a wide selection of KV2 Audio loudspeakers – speaks for itself.

A spectacular opening night in November heralded the launch of the FOREVER Club in Wuhan, China’s biggest nightclub project in 2022. Situated in the Xintiandi business district of Wuhan, FOREVER uses fashion, art and music to create a new entertainment landmark. In keeping with the rest of the ultra-high-class décor and astonishing ceiling creations, FOREVER has also invested in a state-of-the-art audio system, the flagship VHD5 from KV2 Audio. This marks the second VHD5 installation in a Chinese nightclub, the first being at TAXX II in Shanghai in 2021.

After an extremely busy ISE show in Barcelona, KV2 is looking forward to ProLight & Sound in Frankfurt to showcase their latest products. These include including the recently launched slimline ESR106 and its dedicated ESR2600D amplifier based on KV2’s proprietary SLA technology, both of which made their debut at ISE; the powerful ESM312 stage monitor; and the latest addition to the ESD range, the ESD8. KV2 will also be running their traditional live demos, this year featuring their high performance VHD2.0 system, in the outdoor Live Sound Arena.

KV2 is thrilled to kick off the New Year with news of the appointment of seasoned industry professional, Robert Adrian Tan, to the post of Director of Sales, Asia. Based in Singapore, Tan brings over 20 years of experience as an AV consultant in the hospitality and events industries before moving into systems integration. Tan specialises in designing systems for acoustically challenging environments, be it in the live events or installed sound sector and is also a skilled business manager.
