Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking, award-winning musical Cats has embarked on a large-scale international tour throughout Europe, direct from its sell-out seasons at the London Palladium. Rather than touring traditional theatre venues, the tour takes in significantly larger arenas which typically pose challenges for sound designers wanting to replicate the sonic intricacies and detail expected from such a high-profile production.

A spectacular opening night in November heralded the launch of the FOREVER Club in Wuhan, China’s biggest nightclub project in 2022. Situated in the Xintiandi business district of Wuhan, FOREVER uses fashion, art and music to create a new entertainment landmark. In keeping with the rest of the ultra-high-class décor and astonishing ceiling creations, FOREVER has also invested in a state-of-the-art audio system, the flagship VHD5 from KV2 Audio. This marks the second VHD5 installation in a Chinese nightclub, the first being at TAXX II in Shanghai in 2021.

Award-winning British electro-pop classical crossover band, Clean Bandit, recently played their first ever concert in the Jordanian capital of Amman at the luxurious Boulevard in the new Abdali district. Amman-based live event production specialists, Triad Live Productions, supplied all of the PA, control and lighting requirements for the gig including a comprehensive KV2 Audio point source sound system.

West Side Story ranks as one of the most popular musicals of all time and continues to delight audiences sixty years after its Broadway debut. Leonard Bernstein’s score remains as timeless as ever, and Arthur Laurents’ storyline, based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet transposed to gang-ridden 1950’s America, also remains hauntingly relevant. 9 to 5: The Musical is a sparkly, fast-paced romp through 1980s office life, along with the daily normalisation - and acceptance - of blatant workplace sexism. It tells the story of what happens when three very different women - Doralee, Violet and Judy - join forces to do something about it. The show is also a reminder, in the era of #MeToo, of how far we haven’t come in terms of dealing with discrimination, which seemingly remains wholly embedded in the top echelons of the political and media establishment! ICF Mittelland is a non-denominational free church headquartered in Oftringen in northern Switzerland. It was born of a dream to create a dynamic, contemporary church that is relevant to the lives of people in a modern society. The church has recently upgraded its audio system to a full KV2 system supplied by Swiss Pro AV and lighting specialists, Plusmusic AG.

KV2 Audio and their Chinese distributors, AVMEDIA, took the opportunity to launch the VHD5.0 large format concert system during the recent Guangzhou Pro Light and Sound Show. Demonstrations of the system were held at a secluded location near the exhibition centre and guests were bussed from the show to the site. Attendance was excellent, despite the unusually cold weather for the first couple of days, with many of China’s leading engineers and production managers taking the time to come along and experience the VHD5.0 Constant Power Point Source Array’s unprecedented performance.
